Meg Roberts joins AM800 CKLW

Windsor’s AM800 CKLW introduces a new morning show Tuesday, as journalist Meg Roberts joins Mike Kakuk as the new co-host of Mornings with Mike and Meg.

Airing weekday mornings from 5 – 9 a.m. ET, Roberts is known to Windsor-Essex audiences as the host of the local CBC 6 p.m. newscast for the past year.

Roberts, who grew up on a farm in the heart of Essex County, started her broadcast career as a video journalist at CBC Windsor. She later moved on to reporting roles with the public broadcaster in St. John’s, NL and Toronto, before moving home in 2023.

“The morning show on AM800 CKLW is such a special part of Windsor-Essex County’s history,” said Roberts, in a Bell Media announcement. “Having grown up here, it’s the honour of a lifetime for me to return home to carry on the legacy of a show that is so deeply rooted in our community.”

“With an engaging personality and a natural ability to connect with listeners, Meg is a wonderful choice to help continue the success this program has achieved over many years,” said Kakuk. “I can’t wait to begin working together and get started on the thoughtful and entertaining discussions we’ll have every morning.”

Roberts steps into the role vacated by Lisa Williams, who retired earlier this year after 38 years with the station.
