Kathy Kenzora hosts History of the 90’s podcast for Corus’ Curiouscast

Podcaster Kathy Kenzora is hosting and co-producing a new podcast for Corus’ Curiouscast network exploring the decade that brought us the grunge movement, Seinfeld and The Spice Girls, and was also marked by the fall of the Berlin Wall, the L.A. riots, and Columbine.

History of the 90’s expands on Kenzora’s popular History of 1995 podcast, which made Apple’s Best Canadian Podcasts list in 2018.

Kenzora is a former reporter who worked for AM 640 (CFMJ-AM) and Q107 (CILQ-FM) in the 1990s, covering the Paul Bernardo trial and Queen’s Park, among other news of the day. She left journalism in 1999 to move into media strategy for the Ontario government before getting into podcasting in 2017.

“When we were living through the 90’s, it was hard to appreciate the importance of everything that was going on in the world at the time,” said Kenzora, in a release. “This podcast gives us a chance to take a retrospective look at the major stories and events of the 90’s with a more complete understanding of the impact they had on society.”

“The 90’s is one of the most fascinating decades in modern history. To stop and think about how much the world has changed as a result of that short window of time is truly remarkable.  Not only will this podcast explore some of the biggest moments of the 90’s, Kathy will also take a deep dive into stories many listeners have likely never heard before,” said Chris ‘Dunner’ Duncombe, Director of Streaming and Podcasting, Corus Entertainment. “We are so excited to share this new podcast with Curiouscast listeners.”

History of The 90’s will premiere with the release of two episodes on July 17, with a new episode set to drop every two weeks. Listen to the trailer here.
