News Reporter – Lethbridge, AB

    The Jim Pattison Broadcast Group is Lethbridge (CHLB Radio and LethbridgeNewsNow.com) has an opening for a full-time experienced (minimum 5-years) News Reporter.

    Responsibilities: Generate local stories, as well as assigned reporting (both phone interviews and field work), including some evening meetings. This position requires familiarity with City Council and Court Reporting procedures, as well as digital, on-line reporting.

    The successful applicant will be able to maintain positive relationships with potential newsmakers, a ‘self-starter’ who is able to initiate story content, follow social media for leads and capable of working under limited supervision. Applicant will also be called upon for on-air news reading.

    Qualifications:

    • A Broadcast / Digital Communications Diploma or Degree is a must
    • Previous on-air, writing, reporting and digital experience is required
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Must be able to function successfully under pressure of deadlines
    • Working knowledge of KLZ News System, digital cameras, audio and video editing
    • Positive, energetic, friendly manner
    • Valid driver’s license.
