Digital Journalist – Kamloops, BC

    CFJCToday.com is a leading online news source in British Columbia’s Thompson-Okanagan region.  We’re looking to add another outstanding journalist to our team.

    You might the person we are looking for if you are an outstanding writer who combines their inquisitive nature with their ability to identify and develop stories. Your strong social media skills will be relied upon to develop and build our online presence.

    Your abilities should include pitching, sourcing and writing news articles, which would be geared to our Kamloops area audience.

    You will be expected to arrange and conduct interviews, write daily news items as well as more in-depth feature news articles on subjects ranging from legal matters to community issues.  You will need to work well individually but also as a member of our experienced news team.

    An interest in a broadcast newsroom is important while experience in a radio and television newsroom would be an added asset.

    Your qualifications will include:

    • A journalism degree or diploma from a recognized broadcast news school.
    • 2 years of experience in a digital news environment
    • Proven ability to lead social media projects
    • Proficiency in Canadian Press Style
    • Excellent technical skills and knowledge of the web
    • A valid Class 5 Drivers License
