George Leith joins Harvard Media in EVP role

George Leith has joined Harvard Media as its new Executive Vice President & Managing Partner.

Leith will be responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day business activities. He arrives from Saskatoon-headquartered software company Vendasta, where he’s served in roles including Chief Customer Officer, Chief Revenue Officer and Vice-President, Sales over the past decade, most recently leading a 250-person customer facing team.

Leith’s career began in local radio in Saskatchewan in the late 1980s with Golden West Broadcasting’s CJYM 1330 Rosetown and 1210 AM (CFYM-AM) Kindersley where he worked in sales and as a play-by-play announcer, before working his way up to morning drive and program director, among other roles. He left radio in 1996 to found ag-focused publisher Prairieland Publishing Group.

He previously hosted and produced Vendasta weekly sales podcast Conquer Local for six years, up until this past January, and plans to launch a podcast with Harvard in May discussing digital growth solutions.

Leith will report to Harvard Media’s Board of Directors, led by Matt Hill, President & CEO of Harvard Diversified Holdings. He’ll also serve on the company’s board of directors.

“We are very excited about having George lead the Harvard Media digital evolution at a time when we are experiencing exponential growth on a national scale,” said Hill, in a company announcement. “George brings the leadership to keep us steadfast in our commitment to providing the highest service level we always have. We remain laser-focused on helping the businesses in our communities thrive.”

“I am excited to join Harvard Media at this pivotal point in our evolution. The talent in our teams is amazing, and it is a privilege to work with our skilled content and customer experience teams,” added Leith. “I continue to be impressed every day by the individuals I meet among our 250+ associates. I have always been a passionate team builder and coach. I look forward to crafting and executing our strategic vision with the dedicated professionals on our teams.”

Formerly branded as Harvard Broadcasting, Harvard Media encompasses 13 radio stations in Alberta and Saskatchewan, a portfolio of websites and apps, and a digital solutions agency.
