Ezra Levant, head of conservative news site Rebel Media, is suing an Ottawa Twitter user

Ezra Levant, head of conservative news site Rebel Media, is suing an Ottawa Twitter user who suggested the Rebel and/or Levant stood to financially benefit from the site’s 2016 crowdfunding campaign for Fort McMurray disaster relief. Filed in Ontario Superior Court, Levant’s statement of claim alleges Robert Day, aka @CanadianCynic, defamed him and seeks $95,000 in damages. The Rebel-promoted Indiegogo campaign raised $162,476 for the Canadian Red Cross.
