Bob McCown to debut new radio show on Sauga 960 AM

Bob McCown is returning to radio with The Bob McCown Show to debut on Sauga 960 AM (CKNT-AM) Monday night.

McCown has been hosting a daily podcast since May of last year after parting ways with Sportsnet in the summer of 2019.

He’ll be joined on the new show, which will also be packaged as a podcast, by hockey analyst and former Sportsnet contributor John Shannon.

In a release, Sauga 960 AM said The Bob McCown Show “will continue to deliver the brand of sports talk radio that his listeners have enjoyed for over 30 years while setting the benchmark against which all others in sports broadcasting are measured.”

“Bob has defined a generation of what sports talk radio is to fans all across Canada while continuing to be the standard bearer in the sports broadcasting industry. We at Sauga 960 AM are extremely excited and honoured to have Bob join our family for his return to radio in the GTA,” said Joty Pannu, CEO, Sauga 960 AM.

“After 40 years in media, I didn’t think I had it in me to be part of another start-up…but Sauga 960 offered me a unique opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team to reach a growing and diverse audience in the GTA,” added McCown, in the station’s announcement.

The Bob McCown Show will air weekdays from 6 – 7 p.m. ET.
