RTDNA Canada has wrapped up handing out its Regional Awards of Excellence, recognizing excellence in digital and broadcast journalism, across four separate events in the East, Central, Prairies and Western Regions.
That includes presenting its 2026 Lifetime Achievement Awards to individuals who have distinguished themselves through outstanding service and continued excellence during the course of their careers in audio, digital and/or video journalism.

In the East Region, RTDNA recognized Mark Dwyer, Director of News & Current Affairs at NTV in Newfoundland & Labrador, where he’s been steering the province’s top newscast since 2013; and Joanne Clancy, longtime CTV Halifax Assistant News Director.

In the Central Region, Lifetime Achievement Awards were bestowed on Alec Gordon, host of CBC Inuktitut program, Tuttavik; CHCH-TV cameraman Duane Worth; retired CBC Radio journalist Robert Fisher; in addition to posthumous recognition for Toronto radio host Don Daynard.
