Harvard Media has unveiled a new programming leadership structure that will see its teams in Alberta and Saskatchewan each led by a Vice President of Programming and Brand Strategy, supported by two Program Directors.
The company says the new structure places programming decisions closer to the communities its stations serve and creates clearer ownership of programming, talent, music, and marketing within each market.
Alberta leadership
Jim McCourtie, who formerly oversaw the X stations in Calgary and Red Deer, alongside the play brand in Edmonton, Red Deer, Regina, and Fort McMurray, assumes the role of Vice President, Programming and Brand Strategy, Alberta. In his expanded role, McCourtie will continue overseeing Harvard Media’s Alberta stations while placing greater emphasis on brand development, marketing strategy, and partnership relationships in the province.

Matt Berry officially rejoins Harvard Media as Program Director, X, while also assuming Alberta Music Director responsibilities for both X and play. Previously caught up in layoffs at Harvard in early 2024, Berry has been helping shape the sound of X92.9 in Calgary and X100.7 in Red Deer over the past few months in a consulting capacity.
Jordan Keating has been promoted from Local Program Director for Fort McMurray to the PD for the Cruz and play brands in Alberta, while also serving as Music Director for Cruz Alberta.
Saskatchewan leadership
Brad Bazin has been promoted to Vice President, Programming and Brand Strategy, Saskatchewan. He’ll also continue leading Harvard Media’s Sports and News operations while overseeing all programming across Saskatchewan.

Tonya Cherry has been appointed Program Director, AM Stations, leading GX94 in Yorkton, while taking on an expanded role with the music strategy and on-air team at 620 CKRM Regina.

Travis Stewart continues as Program Director for Wolf, Cruz, and play in Saskatchewan, while maintaining responsibility for music direction across Harvard Media’s Saskatchewan FM stations.
Harvard says the new structure provides clearer accountability and decision-making at the local level, reflecting an “ongoing commitment to empowering local leaders who understand the communities they serve.”
“By strengthening programming leadership within each province, Harvard Media continues to invest in locally focused brands that reflect the people, music, and communities of Calgary, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Red Deer, Regina, Saskatoon, and Yorkton,” the company said in its announcement.
