Accent Aigu Entertainment, the Toronto-based production company behind internationally-acclaimed series Heated Rivalry, has unveiled a new leadership structure as it builds on its creative and commercial momentum.
Founded by Jacob Tierney and Brendan Brady in 2023 after working together on more than 40 episodes of Letterkenny and its spinoff Shoresy, the changes include new titles for Tierney and Brady, who previously served as Co-Presidents. While continuing to guide Accent Aigu’s strategic direction and creative vision, they now assume the roles of Chief Creative Officer and Executive Producer, and Chief Executive Officer and Executive Producer, respectively.
Appointed to the executive team as President is Jayme Alter Wilson, who’ll lead strategy and operations alongside the founders. Wilson, who has advised Accent Aigu from the beginning, brings a wealth of strategic, business, and legal expertise from her role as a Partner in the Media, Entertainment and Sports group at Dentons. She’ll take up her new role in June.
Craig Merritt has been named to the newly-created role of Chief Financial Officer, in which he’ll oversee all production and corporate financial activities. Merritt is an alum of Halfire Entertainment and Alliance Atlantis, as well as Co-founder and Managing Director of entertainment consultancy, Somersault Entertainment.
Lori Fischburg, who has served as a line producer on Heated Rivalry, also joins as Head of Production and Producer. In her new role, she’ll oversee Accent Aigu’s growing production slate.
Liane Cunje joins as Development Executive and Producer. Cunje, who has served as Managing of Festival Programming at TIFF and produced a number of independent feature films, will oversee development, while also serving as a producer on Heated Rivalry.
“Accent Aigu has experienced incredible success over the past year, and we’re excited about where we are headed next,” said Tierney and Brady, in a company announcement. “As we continue to grow, it’s important for us to bring in people who not only have deep experience in their fields, but who also understand the kind of company we want to be. Jayme, Craig, Lori, and Liane each bring thoughtful leadership, creative insight, and a shared commitment to storytelling as we continue building a strong foundation for long-term success.”
