Steve Jones promoted to president of Stingray Radio as Ian Lurie moves into executive chair role

Steve Jones will assume the role of President of Stingray Radio as Ian Lurie transitions to serve as the company’s Executive Chairman.

Ian Lurie

Set to take effect April 1, Lurie will step back from day-to-day operations of the radio division and focus on developing and supporting the senior management team.

Jones, who has most recently held the title of SVP, Brands and Content, will lead Stingray’s radio corporate teams and general managers and directors across the country as he assumes responsibility for all aspects of the business.

Steve Parsons

With Jones shifting his focus to operations, Steve Parsons will be promoted to Vice-President of Programming, while also retaining his role as General Manager for the Toronto operation. Parsons will oversee brands, content, and overall programming strategy for Stingray’s 101 stations across the country.

Andy Boyd

Andy Boyd, currently Vice-President of Finance, will be promoted to Chief Financial Officer, supporting oversight and support on financial aspects of the business while working closely with finance teams and the Montreal corporate office.

Jane Krindle

Jane Krindle will be promoted to Senior Director of HR, while Ryan Shortt is promoted to Senior Director of Digital. Mark Russett is also promoted to Senior Director of Sales for Ontario and will continue to lead Ottawa operations.

Scott Johns continues in his role as VP of Revenue Management and Local Sales, and Rich Davis as VP of Engineering and Technology.

“I want to congratulate all individuals being promoted as part of this plan,” stated Lurie, in an internal memo provided to Broadcast Dialogue. “I am proud that we have once again  been able to draw on our existing team members to take on larger roles. That has been a fundamental aspect of our philosophy and is a key part of our fabric with numerous individuals across Canada executing very well in dual functionalities.”

“While I will be an integral part of this plan as we transition, I want to wish Steve and the whole management  team all the best as they commence their journey to oversee our division that we are so proud of,” he added.
