RTDNA Canada West Region Award winners

RTDNA Canada recognized journalistic excellence in the West Region on Saturday with the 2019 RTDNA Awards of Excellence honouring B.C.’s best journalists, programs, stations and news gathering organizations in radio, television and digital.

Global News BC won Best TV Newscast (Large Market), with CTV Vancouver Island – CTV News at 6 claiming the Small/Medium Market honour. Best Radio Newscast (Large Market) went to 980 CKNW Vancouver, while CBC Kamloops won the Small/Medium Market award for their coverage of the Batchelor Heights Wildfire. CKNW also claimed the award for Best Podcast for This Is Why.
