Broadcast Tech News In Brief – Røde Microphones launches “ultimate podcast microphone”

Røde Microphones has launched what it’s calling the “ultimate podcast microphone.” The PodMic is a broadcast-grade dynamic microphone designed for podcast applications that includes a built-in pop filter. It can be used with any XLR interface.

Drive Time Metrics (DTM) has been issued a patent related to the collection, measurement, and analysis of in-vehicle media usage data. DTM says the invention provides real-time measurement of any media a driver or passenger may consume while in a vehicle, including AM/FM/HD/DAB radio, satellite radio, stored media such as MP3 & CD/DVD, streaming media, internet radio, audio books, podcasts, audio/video ads, and other forms of audio/video content. The technology also extends to content from the In-Vehicle Entertainment (IVE) system, and integration with a smartphone or media player via wired or wireless connectivity, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
