TSN Radio cuts veteran staff in Ottawa, Vancouver

Steve Warne, morning show co-host at TSN 1200 (CFGO-AM) Ottawa, is among the veteran TSN Radio personalities caught up in cuts at Bell Media on Wednesday.

Bell Media made changes at several of its TSN radio stations Wednesday.

At TSN 1200 (CFGO-AM) Ottawa, longtime staff affected include morning co-host Steve Warne, who had been with the station for 19 years; producer James Abson, a 20-year employee; and morning Sportscentre anchor Dean Roberts, who’d been with TSN and sister station 580 CFRA, since 1996.

At TSN 1040 (CKST-AM) Vancouver, gone are morning show host Dave Pratt, who joined TSN in 2013; rotating co-host and colour commentator Dave Tomlinson, who was with the station for 15 years; along with producer Curt Appleby.

It’s anticipated that fill-in hosts will take over the 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. time slot, ahead of a new schedule set to launch in April.
