Toronto Raptors NBA Championship Parade to air live on Rogers, Bell TV & radio

Toronto Raptors fans celebrate following Thursday's historic NBA Championship win for the franchise.

Rogers and Bell Media have announced they will air the Toronto Raptors NBA Championship Parade LIVE across their respective television, radio and online platforms Monday, starting at 10 a.m. ET.

Rogers and Bell co-own a majority stake in Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, which owns the Raptors. Rogers’ multi-platform coverage will see the celebration aired on Sportsnet, Citytv, and OMNI Television, in addition to Rogers Radio stations in Toronto, and their accompanying digital platforms, including Radioplayer Canada. 

Bell’s coverage will see TSN and CTV carry coverage in a national live simulcast on on TSN, CTV, CP24 and CTV News Channel, with special coverage starting on TSN at 9 a.m. ET.

The parade begins at the Princes’ Gates at the CNE at 10 a.m. ET and will make its way through the streets of Toronto, concluding with a rally at Nathan Phillips Square around noon ET.

Sportsnet’s Tim Micallef and Sid Seixeiro with Breakfast Television’s Dina Pugliese will be live from Nathan Phillips Square to cover the event for Sportsnet and Citytv.

OMNI Television has multilingual coverage of the celebrations with news anchors Wei Lee (in Mandarin) and Kenneth Li (in Cantonese) live from Nathan Phillips Square. Lee and Li will provide commentary and speak with local politicians and community leaders, while reporters Jie Yang and Paul Wan will capture fan reaction from those along the route.

Live coverage will air in Mandarin and Cantonese on OMNI Regional, as well as on OMNI.2, OMNI BC, and OMNI Alberta.

TSN and CTV’s coverage will be hosted by James Duthie and Lisa LaFlamme, who’ll be reunited on-air for the first time since the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

The Raptors on TSN panel including Rod Black, Leo Rautins, Jack “The Coach” Armstrong and former Raptors head coach Sam Mitchell will be at the analysts desk. Reporting live throughout the event will be Josh Lewenberg, Kayla Grey, Dave Feschuk, Steve Simmons, and Bruce Arthur.

TSN’s Cabbie Richards and CP24’s Brandon Gonez will gather fan reaction, while CP24’s Gurdeep Ahluwalia will be in the VIP area, with CP24’s Pooja Handa also providing live one-on-one interviews with players and coaches.

ETALK’s Tyrone Edwards, The Social’s Marci Ien, and CP24’s Cam Woolley will also have coverage from the parade route.

Sportsnet 590 The FAN’s Greg Brady, Ashley Docking, George Rusic and Jeff Blair, along with KiSS 92.5’s Roz and Mocha, and Michelle Butterly from 98.1 CHFI, will broadcast live from Nathan Phillips Square. 680 NEWS will also report live from key locations along the parade route while keeping Toronto listeners up-to-date with breaking news, traffic and weather.

TSN 1050 Toronto will have on-site coverage from Nathan Phillips Square throughout the day, beginning with First Up with Michael Landsberg and Carlo Colaiacovo from 6-10 a.m. ET, followed by a special edition of Overdrive parade coverage beginning at 10 a.m. ET. TSN 1150 Hamilton and TSN 1200 Ottawa will also carry TSN 1050’s coverage.

NEWSTALK 1010’s coverage will see hosts Ryan Doyle, Jim Richards and former Raptors head coach Butch Carter broadcast live from Nathan Phillips Square, starting at 10 a.m. ET, while reporters will provide updates on the ground. Toronto Mayor John Tory will join the broadcast along with other special guests.
