Corus Entertainment has announced the launch of The Ben Mulroney Show, set to air across its AM news/talk radio stations, as part of network changes tied to last week’s “programming refresh.”
That refresh saw numerous talk and news talent depart the company, including Dani Stover and Kelly Cutrara at 640 (CFIQ-AM) Toronto and longtime QR Calgary afternoon host Rob Breakenridge.
Debuting Monday, Ben Mulroney will be heard from 9 a.m. – noon on 640. The first hour will focus on topics directly impacting those living in the Greater Toronto, Hamilton Area, and Ontario, with the following two hours to be syndicated across Corus’ talk network.
The show will be heard from 9 a.m. – noon on AM 980 (CFPL-AM) London, noon – 2 p.m. on QR Calgary and 880 CHED Edmonton, 2 – 4 p.m. on 680 CJOB Winnipeg, and 6 – 8 p.m. on 980 CKNW Vancouver.
“I couldn’t be more excited to launch The Ben Mulroney Show and reintroduce myself to listeners from coast to coast,” said Mulroney, in a Corus announcement. “My promise is simple: to create a show that focuses on what matters to listeners – combining fun, energetic and raw hosting.”
Mulroney joined 640 Toronto as a contributor and the host of weekend mornings over a year ago. Best known for his time with Canada AM and his almost two decades with CTV’s etalk, the host stepped away from the entertainment magazine in June 2020 to to “create space for a new perspective or a new voice.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Ben to our daytime lineup of programming, and believe listeners will love this new dynamic program,” said National Director, Talk Radio, Mike Bendixen. “Ben’s already solid relationship with Canadian media, politics and hot-button topics will make for an exciting show.”
