Stingray announces syndicated The Breeze morning show following restructuring

Starting Monday, April 5, The Morning Breeze with Brad & Deb, hosted by Brad Dryden and Deb Smith out of 96.5 The Breeze (CKUL-FM) Halifax, will air on 96.3 The Breeze (CKRA-FM) Edmonton and 104.3 The Breeze (CHLG-FM) Vancouver from 6 - 10 a.m. local time.

Following a round of restructuring, Stingray has announced it’s introducing a syndicated morning show across its The Breeze easy-listening stations in Vancouver, Edmonton and Halifax and will also launch syndicated evening programming on its Classic Rock stations in the west.

Starting Monday, The Morning Breeze with Brad & Deb, hosted by Brad Dryden and Deb Smith out of 96.5 The Breeze (CKUL-FM) Halifax, will air on 96.3 The Breeze (CKRA-FM) Edmonton and 104.3 The Breeze (CHLG-FM) Vancouver from 6 – 10 a.m. local time.

Stingray says the show “reinvents the concept of a syndicated radio program” with both national content segments and customized local content. Each market will also have a reporter dedicated to covering traffic, weather, and breaking news.

“We are thrilled to bring The Morning Breeze with Brad & Deb to a broader audience,” said Dan Barton, Brand & Content Leader for Stingray’s Breeze branded stations, in a company announcement. “They have a fantastic relationship with their listeners, and they are a perfect escape from the craziness of life today.”

Rock of The West

Travis Currah

Also beginning Monday, Stingray launches “Rock of The West” which will broadcast live from 7 p.m. to midnight MT, weeknights on Stingray Classic Rock stations across Western Canada including K-97 (CIRK-FM) Edmonton, K96-3 (CKKO-FM) Kelowna, and Zed 98.9 (CIZZ-FM) Red Deer.

Travis Currah, the afternoon host at Zed 98.9 Red Deer, will host the show which Stingray says will feature listener call-in and other content appealing to audiences in Alberta and BC, including Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers banter.

The company airs a similar regional evening show called “Rock of the Atlantic” on its East Coast Classic and Active Rock stations.

Among the on-air talent caught up in this week’s restructuring at Stingray stations in Alberta and BC were Kelly Latremouille, the longtime morning man at 104.3 The Breeze in Vancouver; Sean Burke, morning host at 96.3 The Breeze Edmonton, and Rickie Tyler, afternoon host at K96-3 Kelowna.
