Roger Petersen has made it official, posting to Twitter that he’s no longer with Citytv Toronto’s Breakfast Television morning show.
Petersen had been with Citytv for most of the last 21 years and co-host of Breakfast Television for the past two years, alongside Dina Pugliese, following the departure of Kevin Frankish in 2018.
In a video posted to Twitter on Tuesday, Petersen confirmed the news, first reported by Toronto Mike late Monday.

Petersen thanked the show’s viewers, crew and co-host Pugliese saying “the two years with you guys was amazing.”
“Dina, it was wonderful sitting on that couch with you. We had some magnificent laughs, beautiful laughs, genuine laughs…it was so much fun,” said Petersen, acknowledging the show’s win for Best Morning Show in May at the Canadian Screen Awards.
“I’m not done yet…I’m sure I’ll be there somewhere, but right now I’m probably going to sleep in for a little while, maybe do a little sailing, maybe hang out with my son as well,” said Petersen.
Petersen has held a variety of roles with the network, starting as a reporter, anchor and host of Autoshop in 1999. He initially joined Breakfast Television in 2002 as the show’s first morning show reporter, later anchoring for Citytv in Vancouver from 2004-06, before returning to Toronto to anchor and report for CTV. He re-joined Citytv in 2008 as weekend anchor and then stepped into the late night anchor role, following the death of Mark Dailey.
