The CRTC has launched a consultation on how it can better consult and engage with official language minority communities (OLMCs), French-language speakers and other stakeholders about broadcasting matters. This consultation is in response to recent amendments to the Broadcasting Act and the Official Languages Act. Comments received will help the CRTC develop guidelines for engaging with OLMCs, French-language speakers and other stakeholders on official languages during broadcasting proceedings, particularly for decisions that could adversely affect them. The deadline for comment for members of official language minority communities is Nov. 8.
