Mark Brand to debut new show on iHeartRadio talk network

The iHeartRadio Canada Talk Network is debuting a new Saturday evening talk show hosted by chef, food activist, and social-impact entrepreneur, Mark Brand.

Better With Mark Brand will make its debut Saturday, March 12 at 7 p.m. local time on 580 CFRA Ottawa, Newstalk 1010 (CFRB-AM) Toronto, CJAD 800 Montreal, CKLW 800 Windsor, CFAX 1070 Victoria, 610 CKTB Niagara, AM 1150 (CKFR-AM) Kelowna, and 1290 CJBK London.

Brand, who is based in Vancouver, is best known for taking over the iconic Save On Meats building on the city’s embattled Downtown Eastside, as captured in 2011 reality series Gastown Gamble, which aired on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) in Canada. The formation of A Better Life Foundation followed, which provides training and mentorship and prepares daily meals in its commercial kitchen for local facilities like women’s shelters, in addition to feeding DTES residents directly creating meals from “recovered food.” Pre-COVID, it also hosted frequent fundraisers like Greasy Spoon Diner and Plenty of Plates.

Orbyt Media, which is distributing Better With Mark Brand, said the show is “designed to empower and guide listeners into activating one’s purpose in order to build better lives, together.”

Among the guests set to join Brand in conversations about true purpose and impactful change are entertainer Jann Arden; addiction expert and Order of Canada recipient Dr. Gabor Maté; media personality George Stroumboulopoulos; author and social entrepreneur Rha Goddess; chef and activist Suzanne Barr; and actor and arts activist Tim Daly.

Better With Mark Brand will also be available to stream on iHeartRadio.ca and the iHeartRadio app, and as a podcast with new episodes to drop every Sunday on major podcast platforms.

The show is available to Canadian and international stations via Orbyt Media.
