Video Journalist

The CHAT TV newsroom, in Pattison Media’s, Medicine Hat Division, is looking for a multi-talented individual to join our team. This role will create and produce content for our radio, television, and digital news platform, chatnewstoday.ca.
We are looking for a team player who is curious, comfortable on camera, has excellent writing skills, and a proven ability to identify and develop stories daily. Your strong social media skills will be utilized to build our online presence.
As a CHAT TV Video Journalist, you will be required to pitch, arrange and conduct original story ideas daily, produce daily news items under a tight deadline and present them to our audience. This position will involve weekends and some evenings.

Qualifications:

• A broadcast school diploma or appropriate experience
• Excellent research, writing and presentation skills
• Up to date on news and current events
• Strong social media skills
• Ability to shoot and edit (Adobe Premiere preferred)
• A valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of current events/issues impacting Medicine Hat and Southern Alberta
• Legally qualified to work in Canada
