Pattison Media’s CFJC newsroom is seeking to add a Video Journalist to our award-winning newsroom.

The ideal candidate will have a keen sense of curiosity and an ability to identify and develop stories. We are searching for an excellent videographer who can quickly identify the visuals needed to tell a compelling news story, can write concise copy, and produce and present their stories with creativity.

The winning candidate will have working knowledge of professional ENG equipment and will be able to step right in as a video journalist in a television newsroom. They will be expected to arrange and conduct interviews, produce daily news stories as well as more in-depth features on a wide range of subjects. They will need to work well individually and as a teammate in our newsroom. Their role will include producing and presenting stories for radio, television and online consumption.

Candidates should have:
• Outstanding writing skills
• Shooting and editing experience with Adobe Premiere
• The ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
• Excellent verbal communication
• Time management skills
• Broadcast Journalism diploma
• A valid Driver’s License
• Proven video shooting and editing skills
• The ability to work legally in Canada
