Events are taking place today from Hyderabad, India to Milwaukee, Wisconsin marking International Podcast Day.
Started in 2014 as a national event in the U.S. by father and son podcasters Steve and Dave Lee, who are behind the long-running The Waves of Tech podcast, the day was rebranded to International Podcast Day in 2015. Since then, Sept. 30 has celebrated the power of podcasting by livestreaming hundreds of hours of podcasters, hailing from nearly 65 countries including Canada, the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Poland, Germany, South Africa, Jamaica, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, Philippines, India, France, Switzerland, Scotland, the UK, and Finland, among others.
This year’s official International Podcast Day streaming schedule covers topics including why translation is the future of podcasting, monetizing your podcast through social media, and recording on location to grow your audience.
