Golden West Broadcasting names new president

Brett Adnum has been named the new President of Golden West Broadcasting.

Adnum has held the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) since 2022 following the departure of former President & COO Carter Friesen earlier that year, who left the company to pursue other ventures. Since that time, longtime CEO Elmer Hildebrand has also been serving as company president.

Adnum started his career with Golden West in 2011 as the new business development rep for SteinbachOnline.com, which was followed by a transition into radio sales for Mix 96.7 (CILT-FM) Steinbach. Successive roles followed including serving as Radio Sales Manager, and then VP, Sales & Operations for all of Golden West, starting in 2018.

As COO, Golden West credited Adnum in a release with helping transition the company out of the pandemic, “creating the vision and path for our company moving forward.”

Adnum is also the Past President of Western Association of Broadcasters (WAB), which sees prairie broadcasters meet in Banff later this week.

Golden West now owns 38 radio stations and 23 online media portals across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
