Global News Radio introduces new morning and expanded regional shows across Ontario

After filling in since Mike Stafford's departure in June, Greg Brady officially takes over AM 640 mornings with Toronto Today.

Global News Radio has announced new morning shows across all three of its Ontario AM stations and extended regional shows.

Greg Brady, who has been filling in on 640 (CFMJ-AM) Toronto mornings since Mike Stafford’s departure in June, officially takes over the morning time slot with Toronto Today. The morning show team is rounded out by anchor Dave Bradley and technical producer Rob Trevisan.

Rick Zamperin

Good Morning Hamilton with Rick Zamperin is airing from 5:30 to 9 a.m. on 900 CHML Hamilton. Zamperin, who has had a 20-year run with CHML and also serves as the station’s Assistant Program Director, is joined by anchors Paul Tipple and Shiona Thompson. Zamperin is also known to listeners as the former play-by-play voice of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from 2007-14.

Hamilton Today with Scott Thompson airs weekdays from 3 to 6 p.m. on CHML. 

On CFPL London, The Morning Show with Devon Peacock debuts. Peacock has been with the station for almost two decades. CFPL has also introduced new afternoon drive show, London Live with Mike Stubbs. Stubbs is known locally as the play-by-play announcer for London Knights games on CFPL. 

New regional shows

Rounding out the lineup changes are a slate of expanded regional shows with The Bill Kelly Show now airing weekdays on both 980 CFPL and 900 CHML from 9 a.m. to noon. Kelly, a 40-year broadcaster and former Hamilton city councillor, has hosted on CHML for the past 14 years. 

Alan Carter

The Alan Carter Radio Program is also extended weekdays from noon to 1 p.m. across all three stations. Carter is known in Ontario as the co-anchor of Global Toronto’s early evening television news broadcasts.

Jeff McArthur, the current host of Global’s The Morning Show, is now heard across all three stations from 1 to 3 p.m. weekdays.
