‘Geist,’ ‘Happy to See Me’ lead Canadian Podcast Awards nominees

The Canadian Podcast Awards have announced the nominees for the seventh annual awards program, celebrating outstanding achievement in Canadian podcasting.

Established in 2018 by Podcamp Toronto, a record-setting 1,984 submissions were received this year across 29 categories. Of 336 nominated podcasts, the top nominee this year was paranormal series Geist, hosted by Danielle Matar and Beau Jensen. The spooky, atmospheric series earned six nominations, including Outstanding Arts Series and Original Music and Lyrics.

The Sonar Network’s Happy to See Me, hosted by Erika Casupanan, garnered five nods, including Debut Series and Society & Culture. The Survivor 41 winner highlights “the overlooked and underestimated,” featuring interviews with guests like Big Brother Canada winner Bayleigh Pelham, TikTok creator Zachary Reality, and comedian Andrew Phung.
