Daryn Jones and Deepa Prashad have been named the new morning co-hosts at 99.9 Virgin Radio (CKFM-FM) Toronto.
Making their debut this morning, the pair formally succeed the former morning show team of Adam Wylde and Jax Irwin who announced in May they were stepping away from the station.
Airing weekday mornings from 5:30 – 10 a.m. ET, Jones arrives from Rogers Sports & Media’s KiSS 92.5 (CKIS-FM) Toronto where he’s been hosting afternoon drive since 2018. His last day was Friday, with Jones telling his Instagram followers that leaving was not an easy decision, but to build something new was an opportunity he couldn’t say no too.
Prior to KiSS 92.5, Jones began his career as the host and co-creator of The Comedy Network’s BUZZ, and has hosted shows like MTV LIVE and The Bachelor After Show: Paradise Canada. Prashad arrives from within the Bell Media family as a Formula 1 content creator for TSN, who has been filling in on the Virgin morning show alongside Chris Kelly and producer Leah Abrahams, since earlier this year. Prashad has also worked as a host and producer for the Family Channel and blogTO.
“We are thrilled to welcome Daryn Jones as he joins Deepa Prashad on 99.9 Virgin Radio’s new morning program,” said Program Director Karen Steele, in a Bell Media announcement. “We can’t wait for listeners to connect with Daryn and Deepa’s chemistry, energy, and enthusiasm. With these two beloved personalities at the helm of the program, mornings in Toronto just got a lot more fun.”
