Corus Radio’s talk network is set to introduce two new national shows this weekend, while 640 (CFIQ-AM) Toronto will also debut two additional local shows.
640 will introduce Toronto This Weekend with Maggie John, highlighting what’s happening in the GTA from health and business to entertainment and community events. It will air weekends from 7 – 10 a.m. ET
640 Program Director Amanda Cupido says the new lineup means the station will no longer air reroll of weekday programs on weekends.
“This is an intentional move to keep our programming timely, relevant and make sure our audiences are always learning something new when they tune in,” Cupido told Broadcast Dialogue. “An added bonus is that it opens up our airwaves for fresh voices from the city and brings more depth to the Canadian radio industry.”
