The second night of Canadian Screen Awards winners were shared at The Sports Programming Awards, presented by CTV, and The Digital & Immersive Awards.
The night’s big winner was CBC and Obsidian Theatre collaboration, 21 Black Futures, which picked up four awards, including Best Web Series, Best Writing for Amanda Parris; Best Direction for Charles Officer, and Best Lead Performance for Lovell Adams-Gray.
On the Sports side, Sportsnet claimed two awards for its Toronto Blue Jays coverage, including Best Sports Play-by-Play Announcer for Dan Shulman, for Blue Jays on Sportsnet, and Best Sports Analyst for Joe Siddall for Blue Jays Central. Sportsnet also claimed two awards for the 2021 Stanley Cup Final Game 4 broadcast, including Best Live Sports Event and Best Direction for John Szpala.
The next group of winners will be unveiled Wednesday, April 7 at The Children’s & Animation Awards, presented by Shaw Rocket Fund and supported by 9 Story Media Group, and The Lifestyle & Reality Awards.
