Broadcast Tech & Engineering News – SpaceX Launch Live wins IABM award

Nextologies, a custom end-to-end video broadcast solutions provider, and mobile broadcasting company PSSI Global Services were joint recipients of the International Association of Broadcast and Media (IABM) BaM Award® for best collaboration in a media project in 2020. In May, Nextologies and PSSI collaborated on the first SpaceX live launch show, Space Launch Live. PSSI provided satellite, fiber and IP services for remote production, ingesting over 30 discrete feeds and delivering the live show to a global audience. The “secret sauce” was Nextologies’ proprietary software, gear and web portals, which enabled the show producers to communicate remotely with the hosts and talent, allowing them to direct the show, and even control cameras, from several remote locations. The production was so successful it resulted in the duo’s callback for the additional SpaceX missions in August and November of 2020.
