Music programmer Sean Ross of Ross on Radio will endeavour to answer the question “how does radio evolve into its third act?,” while talent acquisition expert Adam Currie will speak to the power of communicating culture, vision and purpose through storytelling.

Sonia Sunger

Sonia Sunger of Global News will moderate a panel discussion exploring how legacy industries can evolve recruitment, talent pipelines and employee growth & development. The panel will feature Brian Wiebe, Program Head of BCIT’s Radio Arts and Entertainment program; Pattison Media Prince George General Manager Kevin Gemmell; and Simone Grewal, Program Director and afternoon host at Stingray’s 104.3 The Breeze (CHLG-FM) Vancouver.

980 CKNW veteran talk host Jon McComb is among those who’ll receive his milestone Broadcast Certificate as BCAB hands out its annual awards at the conference, including the Broadcaster of the Year honour.

“There’s truly something for everyone, and all in one day,” said BCAB President Rob Brimacombe, in a conference announcement. “We all know local broadcasting is facing many headwinds. At the same time, I’m convinced the value and coverage of local Radio and TV to communities across B.C. has never been more important.”
