Radiodays North America coming to Toronto

Canadian Music Week (CMW) and Radiodays Europe have announced Radiodays North America, a joint event set to take place in Toronto, June 8-9.

Radiodays North America will take place over two days during the weeklong Canadian Music Week Festival, bringing keynote speakers and panelists from around the globe to Toronto to discuss all facets of over-the-air and digital broadcasting and podcasting from executive leadership and workplace diversity to innovation, technology, talent, programming, marketing and revenue growth.

“We are thrilled to be able to bring the Radiodays Europe brand and it’s expert international content to North America,” said Peter Niegel, General Manager for Radiodays Europe, in a release. “Toronto is the ideal location to bring everyone together to ensure that we as an industry move forward with strategies for the future.”

The meeting point for radio, podcasting and audio, Radiodays Europe was founded in 2010 in response to a need for both public and private industry to come together to discuss new media challenges across borders. The conference, which will host its 13th edition in Prague, Czech Republic, March 26-28, now draws over 1,600 participants from 62 countries online and in-person.

Neill Dixon, Founder and President of Canadian Music Week, said he has long admired the Radiodays Europe event, asserting that Radiodays North America “will create a new standard for broadcast conferences around the world.”

The event already has the support of broadcasters, including CBC and the Canadian Radio Council, headed by Troy Reeb, Executive Vice President, Broadcast Networks at Corus Entertainment, who serves as the council’s president.

“We are very excited to participate and support Radiodays North America. Now is the time that our industry needs to work together to help evolve our businesses in order to meet the demand of an ever-changing audience environment,” said Reeb.
