Corus Entertainment’s Curiouscast has announced its fall 2020 lineup of new and returning podcasts which doubles down on the network’s investigative series with new shows 13 Hours: Inside the Nova Scotia Massacre and Whatever Happened To.
13 Hours: Inside the Nova Scotia Massacre – Nov. 9
Hosted by Global Halifax reporter Sarah Ritchie, 13 Hours: Inside the Nova Scotia Massacre pieces together the April 18-19 tragedy that left 22 dead, hour-by-hour, as it happened. The 13-part series also looks at what could have been done to prevent the killings, what police knew and the ensuing communication breakdown. Launching Nov. 9, new episodes will be released bi-weekly.
Whatever Happened To – Nov. 19
Global Toronto reporter Erica Vella updates headline-grabbing stories that have fallen out of the news cycle. Launching Nov. 19, with new episodes bi-weekly, the investigative series takes an indepth look at Fukushima, The Chilean Miners, Zika Virus, The Ice Bucket Challenge, and Lac Megantic, among other stories, and what’s happened since they stopped dominating media coverage.
Crime Beat (Season 3) – Launching Oct. 20
Veteran Global Calgary crime reporter Nancy Hixt embarks on Crime Beat’s third season as a podcast and upcoming second season as a TV adaptation. Launching on Oct. 20, new podcast episodes will be released bi-weekly. The first episode delves into the 2013 stabbing death of Calgary teacher Craig Kelloway at the hands of a neighbour.
The Super Awesome Science Show: The Science of Covid – Launched Sept. 28
Returning for Season 2, Jason Tetro explores the science behind pandemics. From vaccines to a second wave of COVID-19, the podcast promises to cover pandemics in a way that everyone can understand. The podcast launched its first episode Sept. 28 with new episodes dropping weekly.
