Broadcast Tech & Engineering News – Telos Alliance, Super Hi-Fi announce tech partnership

Telos Alliance and Super Hi-Fi have announced a technology partnership with the goal of improving the listener experience while giving radio broadcasters time back in their day. At the heart of the collaboration is LiveConnect, a new live-over-IP protocol that connects traditional live radio shows to cloud playout and production systems, including the Telos Alliance family of broadcast products like Axia Quasar and Altus mixing consoles, and Program Director, Super Hi-Fi’s cloud-based radio operating system. With LiveConnect, broadcasters can go live from any studio – in any location – to any radio station – at any time, with the broadcast studio no longer confined to a single space. The companies say the partnership is also based on a shared commitment to use AI as a tool to help on-air talent, not replace them. The LiveConnect service will be testing with select customers starting in early 2025, with wide availability to broadcasters to follow.

Ross Video has announced the launch of Carbonite Ultra Solo, a compact UHD production switcher designed to deliver professional switching in a compact footprint, targeted at HD/UHD flypacks, space-constrained production facilities, or mobile units. Carbonite Ultra Solo is available in two versions: an all-in-one system that incorporates the frame and control surface electronics in a simple compact unit; and a 1RU frame that can be controlled by separate hardware or a software-based control panel. It includes an internal RAVE audio mixer for audio processing, mixing, and routing and is the first Ross production switcher to incorporate webcam output for conferencing or live streaming applications.
